Chef Alexander Mack teamed up with Dawn Hutchins from Vege Cooking Club to get a expert review of his food.
Chef Alexander Mack is originally from Tallahassee, Florida. He began his first venture in cooking at the age of 18 in a restaurant called Atlanta Bread Company, however, this was only the beginning for the young and aspiring Chef. Through his determination, he began to branch out, working in various kitchens in different cities under Operational Managers, Chefs, and Master Chefs to perfect his craft. Some of the cities in which he worked in are Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Winter Park, Florida; as well as Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia.
Throughout the years, he transitioned from working in fast food restaurants, to becoming Assistant G.M., to overseeing the opening of a new restaurant. Chef Alexander has always had determination to climb higher then he's ever been. "I was homeless at one point, without a job, and no where to go within the city. I just had my Kia Soul and a parking garage to hide my shame. I wanted to go back home to family but at the same time I wanted to figure things out as a man; find my own way you know?", said Chef Alexander in an recent interview that can't be disclosed to the public yet due to copyright issues. "I was depressed and considered myself overweight weighing 285 pounds."
Today, Chef Alexander weighs 165-170 within the lifestyle that he chose to create which he calls a "Veganarian." Being a "Veganarian" is eating vegan based meals at home and minimal vegetarian meals on the go. As Chef Alexander reflects on those negative experiences from his past, he vows that from this point on he will overcome any situation and commit to building the life that he has always envisioned for himself.
In 2016, he took Culinary Arts serious by working closely under Master Chefs and Head Chefs throughout the South to becoming a Sushi Chef, Sou Chef, and Head Chef while changing his eating habits to contribute to building a better future for himself. Since then, Chef Alexander has been a Personal Chef for two years now and has specialized in being a Chef for over 5 years in various cuisines and cooking styles (Plant Base, Vegan, Vegetarian, Sushi, Seafood, Italian, American, and more.). He is known as "The Veganarian Chef" because of his in depth vegetarian and vegan recipes to assist people to transition to a alternate way of eating.
His goal is to bring wealth through health and awareness through his cooking, while showcasing his creative diverse trade skills to many palates; always bringing flavor to the table. He’s currently studying Nutrition Food Science as a Dietitian at Georgia Southern University. His ultimate goal is to further assist the community on how food affects the body, how food can heal the body, and to show the community how to prevent any chronic illnesses by choosing a healthy eating lifestyle. Chef Alexander travels to any city to bring great food to any guest or parties.
